Spencer's Story

The Spencer Crawford Children's Foundation, Inc. was founded in 2002 by Chris and Ellen Crawford. The organization was named after their son, Spencer, who was born with a congenital heart defect. You can read about Spencer, his plight and his family in the following articles chronicled by the Sun-Sentinel:
A Baby With a Broken Heart December 24, 2000
Celebrating The Gift of Life June 03, 2001
Family Sorts Out Concerns And Conflicts August 05, 2001
Chance Of A Lifetime August 05, 2001

It's So Hard To Imagine The World Without Him March 11, 2002

Although Spencer lived for only 22 months, Chris and Ellen's experiences while caring for their son made them realize that there are a multitude of families in similar situations, facing similar fears and frustrations, who need help and do not know where to turn. Spencer Crawford Children's Foundation, Inc. was founded to help those families.
