Ian M. Berkowitz is the founding partner of the law firm, Berkowitz
& Associates, P.A. in Boca Raton, Florida. Ian’s primary areas of
expertise are business and corporate law, which includes business
development, business financing, joint ventures, real estate ventures,
federal assistance programs and federal procurement. Ian served as
In-House Counsel to Avalon Research Group, a Boca Raton based
institutional research boutique, and as an Attorney/Advisor to the
United States Small Business Administration, Office of Hearings &
Appeals in Washington D.C. He began his government service for the
federal government in the disaster assistance division of the U.S.
Small Business Administration in Miami, Florida during Hurricane
Andrew. Ian is also a Special Magistrate for the City of Coral Springs,
the City of Pembroke Pines and the Town of Lauderdale by the Sea. As a
Special Magistrate he presides over Code Enforcement cases, Fire and
Building Cases and Parking Citation Cases. He has a Bachelor of Science
degree from the University of Wisconsin, a Juris Doctorate from Nova
University and a Masters in Government from The Johns Hopkins
University. Ian is a member of the Florida Bar, United States Supreme
Court Bar, the Federal Bar, and the American Bar Association. Ian is
married to Nadine and has two children, Joshua and Hannah.
